FAQ

Click here for a tutorial on how to use Plants in Jars products.

Tissue culture chemicals, like Murashige & Skoog, BAP, IBA, and NAA, are laboratory-grade substances designed for scientific use. While they are generally safe to handle when used correctly, they can pose risks if mishandled. For example, some chemicals may cause skin or eye irritation, and others could be harmful if inhaled or ingested.

We strongly recommend reviewing the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for each chemical to understand the proper handling, storage, and disposal practices, as well as any necessary personal protective equipment (PPE). Always handle these chemicals with care and follow standard lab safety protocols.

No! While tissue culture is a scientific process, you don't need a professional lab background to get started (my degree was in finance, not microbiology). The Plants in Jars YouTube tutorials are designed to help beginners with simple, step-by-step instructions, and you can start with basic materials and equipment at home.

Currently, our chemical products are available for purchase within the lower 48 United States only. Merchandise is available for purchase in the United States and Canada. We are actively working on expanding our availability to additional countries in the future.

A QR code will be included inside your package. Scan it with your phone to access the protocol library.

About Plants in Jars

Hi, I'm Laur. I started doing plant tissue culture as a hobby in 2022. I couldn’t find the kind of straightforward tutorials I needed— so I decided to do the research and create them myself.

Science should be accessible

By demystifying the science behind tissue culture and providing practical, hands-on tutorials, I aim to empower anyone to be able to do micropropagation at home.
